"Our power went out around 1am the other night when awful storms tore through the area. Typically it comes back on for us rather quickly, the longest was about 2 hours. We have a sump pump with a battery backup but once our power had been out for about 14 hours and our backup was out of juice, it quickly dawned on me that we had zero protection from another round of rain and storms that were headed our way. I sent a panicked message to our plumber who called me immediately. He dropped what he was doing and was at our house within an hour with a second battery for our sump🤯 He was genuinely concerned for us and wanted to protect us from a flooded basement (which would have inevitably happened had our power stayed off).
